Recipe activity and privacy

BarAI records recipe requests, the recipes returned, and the request time to improve its collection. We use your browser’s time zone and approximate city, region, and country supplied by our hosting provider.

These activity records do not include your account ID, raw IP address, precise GPS location, microphone audio, or shelf photo. Common email addresses and phone numbers are removed from request text, but avoid including personal information in drink requests. Admins can review activity and aggregate trends.

Browsers sending Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals are excluded from this recipe activity collection. Missing location or time zone information does not prevent you from using BarAI.

When web recipe search is enabled, missing drink requests and detected shelf ingredients may be sent to Google to find a sourced answer. During voice conversations, the answer may also be sent to the active voice provider so it can read the recipe aloud. Web answers stay in your current session unless you choose to add a recipe to BarAI. After you confirm its name and measurements, the recipe and source link are saved to the shared collection and indexed for search. Unconfirmed web answers are not saved or included in BarAI conversation logs. Google retains grounding requests and responses for 30 days under its service terms.

Your email and account details are stored separately for access and invitations. BarAI also keeps conversation logs for troubleshooting. Text, photos, and live audio you submit are processed by the configured AI providers to answer you. Contact hello@bar-ai.app about your data.
